In depth

Verdict

There are some interesting newcomers in this race, including Celestial Arc, Snow Tempest and Mollzam, but we are going to side with Chapter in the second division of the maiden. The selection should come on for his debut run at Sandown but, even so, he was only just denied in the race by the John Gosden-trained Jalamid. With that experience under his belt, he should run well again here. Turning to the others. Benedict Bay cost 20,000 guineas but his stable's juveniles generally progress for a run. Kieren Fallon has been booked for the American-bred Paul Cole newcomer Celestial Arc, there is plenty to like on breeding about the Terry Mills newcomer, Snow Tempest, who cost 30,000 guineas, and Marcus Tregoning runs an interesting pair in the 115,000 guineas son of Danehill, Mollzam, and Rawaabet. Today's trip should suit Peter Harris's Propinquity on his debut but Merrymadcap showed little on his debut at Windsor. This, then, brings us back to Chapter, who gets our vote in this race.
