In depth

Verdict

Goodwood winner Open The Red has been raised 9lb for that success while recent maiden winners Scrutinise and Muntadab go handicapping for the first time today with the latter preferred stepping up in trip. Polarisation, Goodnightsuzy and Banditry also step up in distance having all been placed over a mile in handicaps on their latest starts. But COMPTON MILL won at Chelmsford in April when beating a couple of subsequent winners and he gets a speculative vote in a wide-open contest on the strength of that form. Counterproof was well beaten here on his reappearance but drops down a grade today and is not easily dismissed.
