A competitive sprint, and as the the norm here high numbers have the advantage. Monkston Point faces his easiest task for some time and as he is 5lbs lower than when last seen in a handicap, he may be worth taking a chance with, despite not having won for 15 months. A winner with give underfoot he should find conditions ideal. Little Edward is a credit to Brendan Powell, but he is 12lbs higher now than when last successful in a handicap and it would be a surprise if one or two of these aren't better treated. Budelli comes here on the back of an excellent effort behind the useful Vision Of Night at Yarmouth last weekend, but he has been done no favours by the draw, while both Proud Native and Caribbean Coral also have plenty of from their respective draws in 4 and 7. The strong travelling Trace Clip will pop up in a big sprint one of these days, but Monkston Point could prove to be a class above these and is taken to regain the winning thread.
