In depth

Verdict

The three to note here are Stark Raven, Nelliedonethat and Deuteronomy with the vote going to the last named. Deuteronomy carries a six pound penalty for winning at Newcastle last time out. Prior to that he had shown his well being by finishing second to Shulmin at Sedgefield so has track form which is always a bonus and for that reason is difficult to oppose. Stark Raven has been a model of consistency without getting his head in front this spring. He caught the eye though when second to Royal Mackintosh at Carlisle last time out and although now three pounds higher for that he still holds a claim in the race. Nelliedonethat has top weight to carry after showing a little bit of form in Ireland. He has not won though for some time and but did show signs of ability when fifth of twelve on his first run for new connections so is one to note. But for the winner we return to Deuteronomy.
