Verdict

Swampfire won on the Flat for John Oxx and is on a mark of 92 so looks an interesting recruit for Denis Hogan. Solo Whisper was poor on the level but has done better since switching to hurdles and his run behind Authinger at Tramore last month puts him in the frame for this. Defence Of Duress won over 1m2f at Nottingham for Tom Tate as a juvenile and showed some potential last season but JOHANNISBERGER has to be the pick on his fine second to Back To Balloo at Down Royal where he was caught on the run-in. Sizing Italy showed nothing in bumpers but should do better over timber while the former Richard Hannon-trained Startle is one to keep an eye on.
