In depth

Verdict

BRAVE BETSY is the form pick on her close second to Royal Choice in a Grade 3 novice chase at Cork last December and she would probably have won at Thurles in February but for falling. Those efforts appear better than Derravarra Bay's third to Mayo Abbey at Kilbeggan but she's likely to find Watermelon a tough opponent. Michael Moran's mare ran a superb race when narrowly beaten by Lady Hillingdon at Killarney and she was still in touch when unseating her rider at the third last at Downpatrick last week. Winning point-to-pointer Georgelle should be more at home over fences than hurdles though she hasn't been running badly and may be good enough to snatch a place.
