In depth

Verdict

Plenty of these have winning form on the surface including Crosse Fire, a good third behind Midnight Malibu over 5f here last week when he had a number of today’s rivals behind. Tricky Dicky will relish the return to Fibresand but he does have a little ground to make up on ADAM’S ALE on their run together at Catterick at the end of October. Marjorie Fife’s sprinter is having only a second run on the all-weather but has won on Turf off similar marks and there is no reason why he should be inconvenienced. Call Out Loud got back to winning ways at Chelmsford but has been doing his racing over further lately. John Gosden runs the three-year-old Cashla Bay but he is probably facing a tough task at the weights against these battle-hardened handicappers and Boost is probably a few pounds too high at present.
