In depth

Verdict

OURSININLAW should have plenty of stamina for this race having won last month over three miles, whilst we forgive Humbel Lad who unseated his rider on his first run under rules but Lady Soughton should be the biggest danger to our selection if replicating form shown at Ffos Las two months ago. Oursininlaw was disappointing at Cartmel recently when finishing some way behind Identity Parade. However, before this a solid victory at Fakenham beating Oedipe confirms our interest. Although the trip is a lot shorter today he has shown some decent form over the distance but admittedly not winning. We expect him to score here. Lady Soughton is worth strong consideration as she has progressed well so far this term without getting the win. Off a favourable mark here there is room for improvement and much is needed after finishing a distance behind Flaming Gorge in her last appearance. Humbel Lad did not offer a very promising start to his career but Richard Guest had a 50% strike rate with the hurdle races at Southwell last year and more can be expected from his entry in this race. We choose Oursininlaw to win this one.
