Ed Dunlop's Trompe L'Oeil indicated that her turn would be near when just touched off at Lingfield over 10 furlongs nine days ago and, with the drop in trip not expected to trouble her, she is expected to go one better at the main expense of Come What July and Mrs Gee. The last mentioned has shown steady improvement in maidens on turf and represents the stable of Reg Hollinshead that always has to be respected here. Come What July arguably has the better form but is more exposed and is not certain to stay today's trip. The Michael Jarvis-trained Monte Major showed little sign of encouragement on his debut at Lingfield but is probably better than he showed there, while Jamie Osborne's Oktis Morilious would not need to be anything out of the ordinary to score on his debut although the stable's youngsters tend to improve with racing. However, Trompe L'Oeil showed a likeable attitude on her all-weather debut at Lingfield and, with this surface likely to suit her front running tactics more than the Polytrack, she gets the nod.
