Verdict

RETRIEVE THE STICK finished ahead of Agent Louise when runner-up at Hexham. She never looked like catching the winner but Malcolm Jefferson's filly won't need to improve much to open her account in this. Just Got Lucky stepped up on a modest debut run to finish sixth at Worcester last time and she should be in the mix. She's preferred to both All Riled Up and Ruby's From Milan though the champion jockey's presence on newcomer Wave The Grapes takes the eye and she's worth noting. Monita Bonita, Swincomb Silvalady and Lavella Wells are other debutants worthy of a second glance.
