In depth

Verdict

An open maiden where the tentative suggestion is TARTAN GUNNA, while Sussex Dancer, Sky Gate and Queens Flight can all get involved. The selection has just the one run for us to consider and that was when beaten 10 lengths over 7f on soft ground at Ayr in August. He did, however, show some ability that day, plus the expected greenness, and he was not knocked about when beaten. He was well supported in the market too, suggesting that he may now show us a fair bit more after four months off the track and we'll take the plunge. Sussex Dancer has produced the best piece of racecourse form so far when third in a 9f Wolverhampton maiden last time. It is interesting that Jamie Osborne has kept him to this sphere given he now has a handicap mark and he won¿t be far away. Sky Gate has a few pounds to find with the latter runner on racecourse evidence so far. Brian Meehan's colt has also been allotted a BHA mark now and on what we have seen then handicapping will probably be his forte soon. Queens Flight made a pleasing Great Leighs debut and the yard remains in good form so we can expect improvement where he is concerned and he can take a hand. Manana Manana will perhaps emerge the best of the newcomers but for today we'll take Tartan Gunna to score.
