Verdict

MCCABE CREEK was travelling strongly when unseating his rider at Wincanton two runs ago and wasn’t beaten far at Chepstow last time, despite finishing last of four. He could be well treated here and gets the vote to open his account over the larger obstacles ahead of Wetherby winner Strongly Suggested and Minella Tweet, who was raised 5lb after winning at Fontwell on his first start for new connections. Agincourt Reef has won here in the past but Purple 'n Gold didn’t show much on his comeback run at Haydock and may need another outing.
