In depth

Verdict

Not a great deal to choose between this bunch but Todwick Owl could be the one to open his account, possibly at the main expense of West End Lad and Welcome Releaf. The selection raced too keenly and didn't get home over eleven furlongs last time but should prove suited by this shorter trip and has the ability to win a race of this nature. West End Lad has been tried over a variety of trips but has shown enough early pace the last twice to be well worth another try at this distance. He was second here over a mile three in December and has to be on the short-list. Welcome Releaf has been off the track for some time but connections have engaged Adam Kirby for his return. He's been placed over course and distance and could get into the shake-up if fit enough to do himself justice. None are ruled out with confidence but this may go to Todwick Owl.
