In depth

Verdict

Laudatory bolted up over C&D last month but had earlier finished well behind FASHIONABLE GAL over track and trip, along with Hes Our Lad and The Tiddly Tadpole. Neil King's consistent mare comes out best at the weights again today and can return to winning ways. His Excellency and Unknown Rebel look too high in the handicap but the latter's stablemate Star In Flight could be interesting and Monte Cavallo returned to hurdling with a wide-margin victory at Bangor and still has a bit of scope. Smalib Monterg is steadily climbing the ranks and was far from disgraced at Perth last time but he was behind Tzsora here in July and that one looks held by a few of these on the form book. Hereford scorer Gay Sloane also needs to find further improvement.
