Duke Of Lucca was a smart chaser when with Philip Hobbs and won for the first time for new connections at Kempton in April. He is the class act but has to shoulder a welter burden and Warwick runner-up Mr Satco also has his fair share of weight. CURRAIGFLEMENS gave weight and a beating to Swallowshide at Fontwell last month. Recent rain is very much in his favour and, though he’s a hard ride, the nine-year-old can confirm running with the runner-up and score again. Sam Cavallaro was placed at this meeting last year and is adaptable as to trip but has become a little disappointing.
Mr Satco (IRE) 5-1 (12-4) Jumped right, led and clear until ridden 4 out, headed last, kept on gamely, went 2nd towards finish, held by winner when not much room close home, 2nd of 4, 1l behind Rebel Rebellion (11-10) at Warwick 2m 4f (6) gs in May.
Curraigflemens (IRE) 10-11fav (12-2) Pressed leader until 3rd, tracked leaders, 2nd before 7th until after 10th, challenged 4 out, led before next, clear flat, stayed on, won at Fontwell 2m 5f (6) sft in May beating Swallowshide (12-0) by 5l, 5 ran.
Mr Sawyer 16-1 (11-10) Chased leaders, weakened and pulled up before 4 out, at Cheltenham 2m (5) gd in May.
Sam Cavallaro (IRE) 4-1 (11-13) Behind, not always fluent, headway before 3 out, stayed on flat, no chance with winner, took 2nd post, 2nd of 12, 26l behind Are They Your Own (11-10) at Cheltenham 2m (5) gd in May.
Driftwood Pride (IRE) 20-1 (12-0) (bl) (tt) led 4 til hdd last; no ex, 2nd of 7, 2 1/2l behind Deadly Move (12-0) at Bratton Down 3m gd in May.
