Verdict

SERGEANT THUNDER is hardly one of the champion trainer's superstars but looks good enough to post a third success in six career starts. He sports a hood for the first time, an ever-increasing trend with current handlers, following an acceptable if unspectacular effort last time when third behind a couple of decent sorts down in the west country. This appears to represent an easier task with no rivals of such calibre in opposition and he can resort to winning ways, having scored on his previous outing with something to spare at Worcester. A Tail Of Intrigue had Larteta just over three lengths back when scoring at Uttoxeter and is expected to confirm those placings, although his latest performance when only fourth at the Staffordshire track appeared below par.
