    Verdict

Not a lot for puinters to go on and despite the small field this should be an interesting and informative contest that can go to ALASKA RIVER. The champion jockey has been booked to do the job on Brendan Duke's filly, who went close at Worcester on debut and ran with credit at Southwell last time. Race experience should count for plenty and with the ground to suit she can get off the mark. La Milanaise is well-bred and related to plenty of success, although she is likely to do much better with a test of stamina and for today Panache, who is related to speedier types on the Flat, may do better. Logan Rock has a reasonable jumping pedigree and is not ruled out, though Worcester winner Thomas Bell is likely to get found out once more under his penalty. (Jonathan Doidge)
