Verdict

It will be interesting to see how the market shapes up for Ant Music on his hurdling debut and first outing for Evan Williams having shown ability in this grade on the level but the hurdling experience of ALPHACINO may win the day and he gets the verdict ahead of Gulf Punch. The last mentioned was nothing out of the ordinary on the flat but has already shown better form over timber having not been beaten far in a better race than this at Market Rasen last time so he cannot be discounted. Amy Weaver's Anchorage Boy ran well first time up over hurdles before being brought down at the second at Sedgefield recently and he has to be considered, while Ann Duffield's Mr Mohican, who finished third in that race but was well held, is another worthy of a mention. Tiger Hawk could be an interesting newcomer for David Evans but it is Alphacino that gets the verdict. Ben Haslem's gelding made his debut in that Sedgefield race and has a bit to find with Mr Mohican having finished in fourth place but the yard's hurdlers normally improve from their first outing so he looks worth backing to reverse that form and open his account over timber.
