Verdict

An intriguing look to this opener over a marathon trip and TILLIETUDLEM is narrowly preferred to Andorn, while Hi Dancer can go very well. The last-named has won from higher marks than tonight's 60 and sees out two miles well. He goes on any ground and it would be no great surprise to see him come right here, though he does have to show a bit more zip than in recent starts. Andorn had the measure of Tillietudlem at Beverley last time when the race developed into a sprint. That would have suited Phil Kirby's runner, and he is now 4lbs better off at the weights as the pair renew rivalries. However, given the muddling pace we will take the chance that the form may not work out literally and given Jim Goldie's charge, a more thorough stayer, the chance to atone. They All Laughed split that pair on the Westwood and he also stays well and acts on fast ground, so he has to have serious claims, though Tillietudlem is just preferred.
