This could finally be the day for BROADWAY ALLSTAR to have her day in the sun and rid herself of her maiden tag; Global Strategy, Mistress Eva and Chiff Chaff would appear to form the main body of the opposition. Chiff Chaff is also yet to win a race over hurdles but she has shown a modicum of ability, so cannot be ruled out at this level. Jim Best's mare won't fail for lack of stamina, at least. Mistress Eva improved for the fitting of a hood last time out and will be a big threat if the application has a similar effect today. Her connections will be praying for a deluge of rain beforehand, so support in the betting ring would be a good indicator towards whether ground conditions are expected to suit her. Global Strategy joined Paul Nicholls after winning a similar race at Plumpton last month, so has to be respected for that fact alone; especially as he is potentially well handicapped for a race like this. However, the son of Rainbow Quest has been hardly the most resolute of characters in the past so there are sufficient doubts about him being a stand out in this company. Therefore, it can be worth chancing a small investment on Broadway Star pulling something out of the fire. A lightly raced five-year-old, the Ex-Irish mare drops into selling grade for the first time and, as Tim Vaughan has a great habit of placing horses of this type to very good effect; Broadway Allstar can be his latest 'cast-off' to find improvement now she her sights are lowered to this modest level.
