In depth

Verdict

With a number of front runners on view, this race will require a fair degree of stamina and FOURPOINTONE is the call on this occasion with Alcatras and The Pious Prince put up as the most obvious opposition. Michael Scudamore's charge can be forgiven for floundering in horrendous conditions at Chepstow last time out. He is proven over extreme trips and on the prevailing going and these are good enough recommendations for us. Alcatras won a handicap at Huntingdon off a mark of 89. He did drop away a little tamely on his most recent experience around here. The Pious Prince is unproven over extreme trips but its seldom that the Pipe yard persevere with horses off such lowly ratings so the market has to be watched closely this afternoon. Vibe has been called many rude names in the past and most of them have been by his own trainer. He is very much the own arbiter of his destiny and as a consequence is completely unreliable. Classic Clover has had severe jumping issues and needs to have overcome them in the interim. Clifden Boy should not be good enough. Fourpointone is taken to score.
