Verdict

The old adage of watch the market applies and in the absence of it, PENYFAN DAWN can only be a speculative selection ahead of Alfie Spinner and Over The Hill. Connections have clearly been waiting for better ground for the son of Bach, who was sent off a warm order for a similar contest last year. Although many of the top trainers are represented in this race, this race is unlikely to take much winning. Alfie Spinner travelled well for a long way at Doncaster on his most recent start. There isn't a great deal of similarity between the two tracks but that effort can be considered to be an improved one. Over The Hill hails from a yard more than capable of landing bumpers. That probably explains why he was made favourite for his debut at Hereford and the suspicion is that he will probably come into his own when tried over further. The well named Give Me A Chance could literally be anything though his yard are very much in form at present. Capital City has plenty of experience though has shown little of note. Fly Bury Star was supported at longer odds on debut and may be capable of more. Penyfan Dawn is recommended in the absence of any market information.
