In depth

Verdict

Waldorf Salad has been making steady progress and came good at Huntingdon on Friday where he made all in the very testing ground for a comfortable victory. His penalty takes him on to a huge weight and he's never raced over this far so he has more to do. Kalamill may have lost his maiden tag but for falling at the last over this course and distance last month where he proved that he stays the trip though his only start on heavy ground was unconvincing. Blazing Bouncer had shown potential at Uttoxeter before a poor effort nine days later at Towcester while Bob Keown made a promising handicap debut behind Night Of Passion at Bangor though a line through the winner points to the chance of UNCLE PETTIT. He ran his best race to date behind that winner at Plumpton last month and today's weights suggest he can take this moderate contest.
