In depth

Verdict

Bahamian Pirate, Danzig River and Commando Scott look the three against the field in a wide open affair, the twelve-year-old veteran Bahamian Pirate given the nod. Adele Rothery rode Danzig River to victory over this trip two outings ago, before running respectably over the minimum distance last time. He can play a leading role here. Commando Scott will benefit from the recent rain and any more will be in the favour of this course and distance scorer, although his recent efforts have not been encouraging. Bahamian Pirate put a disappointing effort in a Listed contest behind him when finishing a good second in a good Ascot handicap last Saturday. He will appreciate the cut in the ground, has only been raised three pounds, and Bahamian Pirate can rout his rivals.
