In depth

Verdict

Captain Jacksparra, Colorado Rapid and Docofthebay look the principals here, with Captain Jaqcksparra given the nod to atone for an unlucky run last time. Colorado Rapid was a very promising second on his only outing as a juvenile, and made no mistake when well touted on his seasonal re-appearance, although he ran very green, drifting markedly off a true line. Docofthebay has finished second on his two starts this season, and although he was a little unlucky last time, he too looks quirky and a tricky ride. Captain Jacksparra won his first two contests this season, and has finished runner-up on his last two starts. His most recent effort at Warwick, saw him make ground hand over fist in the closing stages, but he had too much to do in the short straight. Racing off only a pound higher mark Captain Jacksparra's form looks solid and he gets the vote.
