Verdict

Driveheron is on the upgrade and followed her success on the Flat at Sligo with a fine debut over timber behind Quarton at Naas. Apache Drums has progressed with each run and showed his battling qualities at Navan while Kristal Komet won nicely at Clonmel and was by no means disgraced when stepping into Grade 2 company at Leopardstown subsequently. Speed Steed was totally unfancied at Cork but produced an excellent run behind Instant Pur and should improve further but this looks destined for any one of several fascinating newcomers. Maxim Gorky and Longliner were both successful for Sir Michael Stoute and the latter, a very progressive son of Dalakhani, could prove the pick of the pair at this stage. However, TABLE MOUNTAIN won twice from just four starts while in the care of Aidan O'Brien and has more of a jumping pedigree which could give him the edge here. The filly Indicative had winning form for David Wachman and is another to keep an eye on.
