In depth

Verdict

Long Live The King has been a beaten favourite on his last four starts but has generally been up against better opposition than he meets here and should be suited by stepping up in trip. However, he was behind HIGHLY EFFICIENT when the latter made his debut at Roscommon last month and Ger Lyons' well-connected gelding is certain to have come on for the experience and be better over the extra quarter-mile. He gets the vote over Slide Show, who made a nice start behind Nantucket Bay at Navan and is another who can make progress. Missy O'Gwaun had a couple of runs on Polytrack late last year and with those behind her is expected to make her mark over middle-distances this summer.
