Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won this three times in the past six years and is doubly represented this time. Cocoon showed a bit of promise on her debut but nothing in two subsequent starts so EAST INDIA looks the stable pick. A 650,000gns yearling, he wasn't the stable number one when making a successful start at the Curragh where he came through very nicely to win going away. He's entered in plenty of major races and can make enough improvement to see off the challenges of Convergence and Tombelaine. The pair met in a three-runner affair at Leopardstown when they occupied the places behind Gleneagles with the latter just coming out on top. A debut victory over Highland Reel has been well and truly boosted so Dermot Weld's charge is an obvious danger.
