Prince Pippin has come good lately, landing a seller at Wetherby before beating today's rival Bob Lewis by four lengths over track and trip eight days ago. But he may struggle to complete the hat-trick under a penalty, despite AP McCoy taking over the reins. This may be on the sharp side for Southwell second Around A Pound while Thoresby may be high enough in the weights now but Wincanton third Midnight Lira has each-way claims again, as does Aegean Destiny. Connection of DASHING DOC will be hoping for some rain between now and off time as his best form is with some give in the ground but he was only beaten two lengths off this mark at Ffos Las last month and appears to have a better chance than most in an open-looking handicap.
