In depth

Verdict

Star of Germany has given little sign of encouragement in two starts since joining the stable of David Pipe and, while he could step up on those efforts, he is hard to recommend and preference is for Directa's Digger who gets the vote over Makandy. The last mentioned was running consistently well when last seen and should be thereabouts again here, if fit enough for his first run in over a year. Silvo ran creditably at Fakenham last time but is inconsistent and of more interest may be Alisar, who is less exposed than most of these over hurdles and he looks to be going the right way. Crafty Lady is entitled to improve for her recent return at Market Rasen but she needs to and preference is for Directa's Digger. Michael Scudamore's colt has shown gradual improvement in sellers of late, looks to be potentially well treated in a handicap today and he gets the vote.
