Verdict

This won't take much winning but Vandross, who is the pick of the weights according to official figures, is better over further on soft ground. Christopher Ward claims 3lb on JAYO TIME and that could just swing things his way. Richard Newland's six-year-old has been performing at a higher level since recording a double at Wincanton and Market Rasen in the autumn. Short Takes is back in the right grade but his yard is struggling for winners at present. Stand To Reason has been in action on the Flat, however, and wouldn't be without a chance.
