Verdict

Coarse Cut landed a Yarmouth seller this month so it's interesting to see him sent over timber rather than attempting a follow-up on the level, whilst Diable De Sivola is an interesting French-bred recruit for Nick Williams. However, experience frequently proves crucial in juvenile contests and this may rest between the two penalised contenders. HYGROVE PERCY, a maiden on the level with Marcus Tregoning, made a winning debut over timber when gallantly repelling the challenge of the more experienced Invocation and should improve again. He ran well on good ground on the Flat and is preferred to Jazzy, a dual winner on the all-weather. A first-time hood seemed to work the oracle for the Keighley gelding on his second start over timber and he seems sure to give the selection plenty to do.
