Verdict

A tricky race for punters to solve and a chance is taken on QUAZY DE JOIE to get the better of Son Histoire and War Footing. Jonjo O'Neill has enjoyed a good winter and his runners continue to have a spring in their collective step as we change seasons, and Quazy De Joie might just add to his tally. His sole win came when the ground was good to soft at Towcester, and he has raced only once on genuine good ground. Although well beaten that day it was not the conditions that did for him, rather the standard of opposition, and he has twice run well from marks 1lb either side of today's in staying chases. His recent form is nothing special, but today might be the day. With Mighty Moose having raced at Wincanton on Friday he may not make the line-up today, but if he does then he has the form to be considered a player from a light weight and he does go on the ground. Son Histoire goes on a sound surface and has some decent placed form, though is proving hard to win with and has been beaten twice from today's mark. War Footing is another maiden, having raced 11 times and made the frame on four occasions. He is not badly treated here, stays and acts on good going, so has to be short-list material. Pantalaimon is another with claims if you can forgive him his latest Doncaster run, and he has trip and ground to suit, but in a race where a number have claims Quazy De Joie is suggested.
