It may be worth taking a chance with Midnight M on debut with Aalsmeer's mark of 90 looking fanciful at present but PICNIC PARTY is the solid alternative. Aalsmeer showed a decent level of form as a juvenile but showed little for this yard at Lingfield last time and is hard to recommend as connections resort to cheekpieces. She had formerly been with Ed McMahon who is responsible for Beauty Pageant who has shown a modicum of ability on both starts having been well backed on debut. Midnight M is related to numerous winners including a Black Type performer and support for her as she makes her debut would be of interest but she will need to be useful to get the better of our fancy. Picnic Party has a rating of 68 after seven career starts and she has made the frame on three of them, including when narrowly missing out at Bath last time over five furlongs. She settled far better than she has done in the past which will see her to better effect over this longer trip and this looks a decent opportunity in which to shed her maiden tag.
