Verdict

A real headscratcher of a race with SIR TANTALLUS HAWK marginally selected ahead of Mister McGoldrick and Political Paddy. Alan Swinbank's charge does not exactly suggest himself as the best handicapped horse in training but he is proven on a softer surface and should have benefitted for his comeback run at Ffos Las. Mister McGoldrick is always a horse to note in the paddock. He has won here previously and will always be popular with the Yorkshire folk in spite of his advancing years. Political Paddy represents an unfashionable yard. He is just 3lb higher than his last winning mark and in today's testing going, the claim of Ryan Mania will be a help. Sibnek has won in Ireland when trained by Jessica Harrington. He was tailed off on his last start of the year but has no issues in relation to today's prevailing ground conditions. Helens Vision was a high achiever when trained by Tim Vaughan. She has to reverse form with Pagan Starprincess on their Doncaster meeting of last January. Degas Art attempts a longer trip having previously campaigned over the minimum. Palm Reader is watched in the market whilst Terenzium, who won the race last year off a 3lb lower mark is similarly noted. The archetypal course specialist, he appears to be able to show his form at Wetherby regardless of what conditions are thrown at him. Quatro Pierji seems an each-way angle for his players. He is without the visor that accompanied his run against better opposition at Haydock. Sir Tantullus Hawk has most positives.
