made all, left clear from 6 out, easily
tracked leaders, detached from 10th, chased winner from 3 out, no impression
tracked winner until faultered 6 out, pulled up
in rear and in touch, tended to jump right throughout, detached from 10th, left 2nd from 6 out until 3 out, never dangerous
Petethepear won a competitive handicap over the brush hurdles at Haydock a year ago so should handle the switch to fences, though has only raced once since and DELUSIONOFGRANDEUR sets a very decent standard. Sue Smith’s novice has already won twice over this sort of trip at Catterick this season, beating useful rivals on both occasions, and he looks a decent stayer in the making. It would be a big surprise if either Thedfactor or I Know The Code proved good enough unless accidents befell the market principals.
