In depth

Verdict

Weet Yer Turn can land this opener at the expense of Desert Rat and Anticipating. The selection caught the eye when a decent second to Boss Imperial at Market Rasen last time out. That was in fact his first run in handicap company and he looked well treated and with only five pounds more to carry here he could still be one step ahead of the handicapper. Desert Rat has only modest form in hurdle races this spring but he has shown signs of ability and is still relatively unexposed so at the age of four he could still be improving therefore the market could be the best guide to his chances. Anticipating has not been seen for more than a year now but as a result he has been eased in the ratings. Fitness will have to be a question but the yard have travelled a fair way from their southern base so any moves in the market should be noted. But for the winner we return to Weet Yer Turn.
