SEVEN STARS has a light weight and a lowly mark for his handicap debut and is narrowly preferred to Smarties Party and Peters Pride. The selection certainly didn't look to be any great shakes on the flat (official rating of 49 after three starts) but he has shown ability in three runs over hurdles. His third to Starluck at Huntingdon in October probably flattered him but if he can run up to anywhere near that effort then this mark of 94 could be lenient. Kanonkop continues to slide down the weights; Peters Pride's second to Description at Catterick has been franked, whilst Rimsky Korsakov has been dropped 5lb for a recent defeat at the track. Smarties Party was a game winner at Sedgefield last time and his mark has gone up to 103 as a result whereas Prioryjo has been dropped a solitary pound despite a fair effort in defeat behind Big Burrows last time. A tricky handicap but a chance is taken on Seven Stars.
