In depth

Verdict

Duers has generally competed at a high level and doesn't look badly treated, though he hasn't run since October. The Fonze is a class act on his day but all of his victories have come on faster ground than he'll face today so a chance is taken that WESTERN CHARMER can put his last two runs behind him. Dessie Hughes' charge hasn't progressed as expected over fences after looking a bright prospect but he was twice runner-up in Graded company at this time a year ago and hopefully can return to that kind of form. I Hear A Symphony found the going much too heavy at Leopardstown last time but looks on a high enough mark while Bob Lingo is badly out of form, though is tried in a tongue strap for the first time.
