Verdict

SOUND STAGE faded badly in the closing stages at Newbury last time and that run may have come too soon after his close-up third in a chase at Sandown. He can race off an 11lb lower mark back over timber and Caroline Keevil's charge gets the vote. Whistling Senator is upped in class off a 7lb higher mark having won at Huntingdon last month while recent Hereford winner Medic Man is also facing a tougher task here. Henry Hook is not without a chance on his best form with Sadler's Star and Spanish Cruise others to consider reverting to the smaller obstacles.
