        Verdict

It was soft ground when Blaine beat Ice Age at Newbury on his reappearance and there was some give when Lincoln was placed at York in May. Stake Acclaim has every chance on his course and distance victory last month with Ice Age, Dougan, Upstaging and Little Palaver all finishing behind but DARK SHOT is just preferred. Andrew Balding’s charge finished ahead of Stellarta in Listed company last time having been narrowly beaten in the Epsom Dash before that and another bold bid is expected in this.
