In depth

Verdict

Cane Cat has finished close up on a number of occasions recently and his supporters were entitled to feel a little aggrieved at Bath as he didn't enjoy the clearest of runs. CERTAVI may have shown little in maidens but the penny dropped at Chepstow last time and with Brendan Powell going to the trouble of booking William Buick, the pair can overcome a 6lb rise for that success. That said, he'll need to have realised that improvement in order to see off Conducting. Gay Kelleway's inmate was well ahead when they met at Warwick and they are set to reoppose off the same terms. Hip Hip Hooray probably needed her reappearance and is proven on the prevailing going. Hector's Chance won a handicap on the Polytrack off a 3lb higher mark at Lingfield last month, though Heather Main's four-year-old hasn't totally convinced on his previous outings on the turf.
