In depth

Verdict

Support for Mister Ross would obviously bring him into the equation but we'll take SOFIA'S STAR to continue the good run of form of the Winkworth yard with Aegean Pride well worth a second look too. With six winners from just seventeen runners in October anything that Peter Winkworth runs at present has to be given serious consideration and the selection is no different. He had completely lost his way until winning here over a mile last time but he is still 19lbs lower than his highest mark as a result. Conditions appear to be ideal and he should put up another bold show. The closest that Mister Ross has come to the winner in three starts is ten lengths but it would be no surprise were he to show improved form for the switch to handicapping and market support should be taken seriously. Aegean Pride was well held last time but that may have been down to the surface at Southwell. She had shown ability in three maidens and starts life on a feasible mark and could be worth another chance but Sofia's Star has solid credentials and is preferred.
