Verdict

Cone Dore's Lastkingofscotland has become expensive to follow of late but may do better on the softer ground having handled it in Ireland. Gary Moore's Kavachi has won on a soft surface before but is better on fast ground and preference is for Walter Swinburn's PLAY IT SAM, who comes into this in this in good form having won earlier in the season at Ascot and Newbury and, given his pedigree being by Bahamian Bounty out of a Barathea mare, he should not be inconvenienced by the soft ground. Richard Hannon's Calypso Star has harshly gone up 5lb for finishing second behind Gross Prophet at Salisbury last week and of more interest may be Mark Johnston's lightly raced Autumn Riches, who is open to improvement.
