In depth

Verdict

A trappy affair is in prospect and Shawhill is taken to see off Miss Saafend Plaza and Dansimar. A ¿1200 buy at the Ascot Sales, he was claimed out of a recent Windsor event by Tom Dascombe for ¿17000. He wasn't stopping over ten furlongs so this longer trip should hold no fears and we take him to gain immediate return on investment. Miss Saafend Plaza travels as well as anything in her races but the old excuses of "finding one too good" have worn thin a long time ago. Dansimar failed to land a punt at Beverley on her latest start. That effort did represent much improved form so she should not be ruled out of it. Coyote Creek makes a seasonal reappearance but is bred to stay this trip. Wolverhampton specialist Global Traffic should not lack for match fitness. Crimson Monarch still holds an entry in the Vodafone Derby but that might be a little over the horizon. However, he ran on eyecatchingly on his latest start and is one to note in the market. His form closely tying him in with Hemisphear. Plenty of possibles and Shawhill is offered as the tenatative selection.
