In depth

Verdict

Yet another puzzle of a race can go to Docofthebay ahead of Eager Igor, Henry The Seventh, Lights Of Vegas, Our Ruby and Event Music to name but a few. Docofthebay is a winner waiting to happen based on his very solid effort at Epsom five days ago on what was his handicap debut. Jamie Osborne's charge overcame a wide draw in stall 15 to throw down the gauntlet to Malyana, and but for hanging in the closing stages, would probably have prevailed. He can gain compensation here despite the claims of many others. Eager Igor was a beaten favourite at Beverley 12 days ago when he too was unlucky. All dressed up with nowhere to go, he finished well when finally seeing daylight, and will relish the slightly longer trip. Henry The Seventh is still a maiden but has a string of place efforts to his name, and will improve for this first run since February, while of the rest, Our Ruby and Event Music have both shown ability, and Lights Of Vegas has what it takes to make up into a decent handicapper. All in all this is a tricky race on the whole, with Docofthebay the pick.
