Verdict

MORBRICK gets the vote in division one of the amateur riders' handicap. With almost half of the others set to race from out of the weights; it may be down to William's Way and Western Lodge to give the selection the most to think about. Western Lodge met trouble in running last time out, but posted a notable effort under the circumstances. He has dropped to handy mark and confidence from the betting ring would be dangerous to ignore. William's Way landed a similar contest on his penultimate start and, from just a 4lb higher mark; he has an obvious place on the shortlist. The seven-year-old is unexposed on this surface and, assuming he doesn¿t decided to drop himself out leave and himself with too much to do; he can be on the premises in this company. However, Morbrick looks a more reliable option for a race like this. Mark Brisbourne's charge is holding his form well and, with the step up in distance expected to suit, this looks a solid chance for the Shorpshire-based handler to land the lion's share of the spoils.
