Fraternity stands out as a horse in-form for the finale and, although he is creeping up the weights, he could still have enough in the locker to repel the likes of Full Spate, Merdiff and the old-boy Lord Chamberlain, who come here on the back of very respectable efforts last time. The first named rolled back the clock to win an amateur riders event here last week and should again run his race. However, he has more on his plate in this company and, at the age of twelve it is unlikely that he has any improvement left in him. Merdiff, on the other hand, has ability but does not always consent to use it. He does go well at the track though, and can at least make the frame if he is on a going day. Milton Bradley (also trains Lord Chamberlain) has his string in good order and many will no doubt see his only runners on the card taking their chance in the lucky last as a significant enough hint for a play. However, his Full Spate, who looks to be his best chance, has been off for a long time and, as he usually needs a run to put him straight, others make more appeal. None more so than Fraternity, who has thrived since he returned from Dubai and is well worth another tilt in the betting ring in this company.
