This is another amateur riders¿ event and True Companion is given the narrow vote to get his head in front at the main expense of Romil Star and Spectested. Spectested hails from a shrewd yard and he won well last time when beating Joely Green on this track. However that was over a longer trip than this and the drop in distance looks to be against him as he needed every yard to get up last time. On the flip side he does go very well for today¿s amateur rider Mark Smith. Nick Littmoden will have a useful form line with Spectested who narrowly beat Littmoden¿s horse Joely Green last time. With this in mind True Companion, who has certainly got plenty of ability, is taken to score. Littmoden knows the time of day in these events and this looks True Companion¿s easiest assignment for some time. Romil Star is in good form and has to be respected, and although he has won here before, his best form is at Southwell and he may be best watched on this occasion. The Varlet has only ever got his head in front once, but he is capable of going in at a big price. However, we will stick with True Companion as our idea of the winner.
