In depth

Verdict

Ian Williams continues to have his string in fine form and MODERNISM can maintain the run by supplementing a course win two weeks ago. He stuck on well that day and backers can expect a positive ride from Stevie Donohoe as the gelding drops back in trip. He proved effective over this distance during his time with Richard Fahey. A L'anglaise is a fascinating contender on this first start for Rae Guest as she displayed fair form in France and should have more to offer after a light career to date. The market should prove informative about her chance while Hairdryer is another likely improver after breaking his duck comfortably at Chelmsford in November. Craftsmanship ran a series of decent races in the main last autumn and should be in the mix on his first start since being gelded in November.
